At YTB You Can Either Join As a Rep, RTA, Or As an RTA & Rep…Here’s the Major Difference

Published by Your Travel Biz under YTB, YTB Source

I often get calls from people who sign up with Your Travel Biz as an Independent Rep (REP). They ask what YTB products and services they can sell, and how the Rep program works. Their second question is usually, “What is the difference between a Referring Travel Agent (RTA) and a REP? In response to these questions, I have outlined below the differences between the entry positions that are available from YTB. In total, there are three positions to consider: REP, RTA and an RTA/REP ( the RTA/REP position is available when you sign up for both the REP and RTA levels)

A REP is a person who has signed an Independent Marketing Representative (IMR) agreement with Your Travel Biz. A REP can only sell Online YTB Travel Agencies and sponsor other REPs. A REP can earn commissions and overrides on sales made by REPs in their IMR downline. A REP CANNOT SELL TRAVEL. Only an RTA can sell travel. There is no fee required to be a Rep. In this case the REP only accepts the Independent Rep Agreement in the sign up process.

An RTA is a person who has purchased an Online Travel Agency for the $449.95 fee in an agreement with the YTB Travel Network and pays a $49.95 monthly fee for a personalized website that includes a travel booking engine and its Back Office management tools. An RTA refers people to their Online Travel Agency to book travel, and earns travel commissions on travel booked though their personalized site. AN RTA CANNOT ALSO SELL YTB ONLINE TRAVEL AGENCIES. In this case the RTA accepts only the RTA Agreement during the sign up process.

An RTA / Rep is a person who has purchased an Online Travel Agency for the $449.95 fee in an agreement with the YTB Travel Network and pays a $49.95 monthly fee for a personalized website with travel booking engine and its Back Office management tools. An RTA refers people to their Online Travel Agency to book travel and earns travel commissions on travel booked though their personalized site. AN RTA and Rep CAN ALSO SELL YTB ONLINE TRAVEL AGENCIES. In this case, the RTA / REP accepts both REP and RTA Agreements during the sign up process.

In my case I wanted to start a home based travel business . Logically, I needed the ability to sell travel and wanted to sell the opportunity to become a travel agent as well. In order to sell travel and YTB online travel agencies, I signed up both as an RTA & REP. I was also very interested in selling all the other products and services that your travel biz offers including entertainment, flower order and delivery, cruises, vacation packages and now automobiles.

This attempt at clarifying the three entry positions that are available from your travel biz should make your decision much easier when you join YTB. The choice of positions is your’s to make, and select the one that best fits your needs and income expectations. I joined YTB to earn more income; therefore, the more products and services that I have to offer through my online travel agency…the better the chances I have in meeting this goal.

Why Travel Agencies Are Interested in YTB Travel

Published by Your Travel Biz under YTB, YTB Source

I know this may sound confusing, but I get calls from full service travel agencies who are interested in the products and services offered by YTB . Why would a travel agency be interested in your travel biz?

Here’s why:

My home based travel business offers much more than travel. For example, we are an MLM travel business which allow us to sell to sell an online travel agency. Most travel agents do not have the opportunity to sell travel franchises.

My YTB business travel agency also sells booking services for entertainment, which includes tickets to sporting events, and many other entertainment formats. Entertainment is a huge business and appeals to people from all walks of society.

With the YTB home travel business people can order and send flowers to anywhere at anytime, which again is a huge industry within itself.

As a YTB online travel agent, I can offer non-profits a fantastic fund raising program where they get their own online travel agency where members and supporters can book all of the services that YTB offers and get to keep 40% of all commissions to fund their projects and causes. As an example, check out what we have done for the Foundation for Cancer Research at www.causetravel.com.

We can also sell new and used automobiles on the YTB web site, because we have established business partners with automobile dealers. In effect, the buyer completes a profile on what they are looking for, and submits the completed form directly to the aligned dealers. At that point, the auto dealership assumes the sales cycle and closes the business. We get paid a generous commission for virtually doing nothing.

People that own brick and mortar travel agencies will be the first to tell you how competitive their business is becoming. YTB’s corporate travel services offer a competitive edge to a travel agency, because they can replace a competitor regardless of any long term relationship. Here’s how this works: Travel agencies compete for business travel that is used by all sizes of companies and corporations. Once a company picks a travel agent to book their business travel, they usually develop a long lasting relationship. At this point, loyalty to that travel vendor kicks in. Therefore, it is difficult to call on these companies and convince them to replace this relationship with their travel agent services. In this case, a travel agent who has a YTB travel license can offer any sized business their own YTB travel franchise, and the business can keep 40% of all the travel commissions on travel they book during the course of their daily business travel. Now the company is making money on their own business travel, and no longer has to call a travel agency everytime they take a business trip! By the way, the travel agency who is YTB licensed earns 10% of 100% of all business travel commissions. Prior to implementing this sales replacement strategy, they were earning nothing with little or no hope of breaking into this new account.

Many travel agencies have customers who want to get into the travel industry. Now a travel agent can sell a YTB travel franchise to these people and earn over-rides on their home travel business. Prior to acquiring a YTB Travel license, they had nothing to offer a person who has this need.

These are solid reasons why existing “brick and mortar” travel agencies are joining YTB Travel. Afterall, they are adding to their existing product and service offering, which results in multi-stream income. Multi-stream income is everyone’s goal.
